Los Angeles Clippers 解僱擔任球隊教練七年的Doc Rivers。Clippers 今季被廣泛視爲總冠軍大熱；他們在季後賽次輪先打成局數3-1，及後被Nuggets 連勝三場，以4-3淘汰，八強階段出局。
Clippers 在官方聲明指這個解僱的決定，是由Rivers 和球隊班主Steve Ballmer 共同作出。
據報76ers 及Pelicans 已接洽剛被辭退的Doc Rivers。報告指Clippers 對助理教練Tyronn Lue 感興趣。而76ers、Pelicans 及Rockerts 亦有意招羅Lue。據悉Lue 將在本星期二或三(美國時間)和76ers 會面。
Doc Rivers 在2013年加盟Clippers，其時他被Boston Celtics 交易到Clippers，換來一個first-round選秀權。在他的七年任期，當中六年打進季後賽；最遠曾打到次輪，未嘗爭進岸區決賽。
Doc 是Clippers 史上最多勝仗 (356場勝仗)、最多次打進季後賽、最高勝率的教練 (63.1%勝率)。
Doc Rivers 在他離任聲明中說: “When I took this job, my goals were to make this a winning basketball program, a free agent destination, and bring a championship to this organization. While I was able to accomplish most of my goals, I won’t be able to see them all through.”
(當我接過這工作，我的目標是令球隊有爭勝能力、令Clippers 成爲一個自由身球員想加盟的球隊，並爲這機構爭來一個總冠軍。雖然我得以完成大部份目標，我將不能見目標一一達成。)
Clippers 班主Steve Ballmer 的聲明洋溢對Doc 的讚譽:
