美國有一傳統 — 贏得各大聯賽總冠軍的球隊會被美國總統邀請到訪白宮。而近日NFL Super Bowl 總冠軍Philadelphia Eagles 被美國總統Donald Trump 撤回到訪邀請，原因是Trump 認爲Eagles 球員對國歌有他所不認同的立場。
LeBron 近日受訪談及此事，他除了對Eagles 球員表示支持之外，還說起自己對這個白宮邀請的立場：

「我知道不論誰贏出這總決賽，沒人會想要受邀請(到白宮)。Golden State 或Cleveland 都不會去。」
他也說：「別讓(總統)取消到訪邀請貶損這一瞬間的意義。因爲我認爲總冠軍 — 贏得Super Bowl 或是Stanley Cup 或是World Series 或是NBA 總冠軍、或是全國冠軍，都比起被邀請到白宮有意義得多，尤其是當他(Trump)在其中，這是我的意見。」
在不同場合受訪的Stephen Curry 也表示贊同LeBron 的立場：

「我同意Bron (LeBron)。我頗爲肯定我們會跟從去年的處理手法。」
Curry 和其他Warriors 球員去年決定不到訪白宮；其後Trump 取消對Warriors 的邀請。當時LeBron 也有爲此發聲，更稱呼Trump 爲”bum” (「流氓」)。
