據美媒Rockets Wire引述的匿名消息，Houston Rockets 對Paul George 和LeBron James 有強烈興趣 — 兩位皆將在今個休季成爲自由身球員。
在上一個休季(offseason)，已經傳出Rockets 積極尋求交易George，但George 最終被交易到OKC Thunder。而在今個球季期間，一直盛傳Lakers 和George 之間互有好感。而Lakers 的主席Magic Johnson 和GM Rob Pelinka 也曾明言招羅Paul George 是他們的重點項目。
雖然Rockets 的薪金情況看到難以騰出薪酬空間來羅致巨星，但Rockets 的GM Daryl Morey 在早前記者會中對此顯得相當有信心：
