去年季後賽，Isaiah Thomas頂著妹妹離世之痛，以及髖關節撕裂的傷患，為Celtics負傷上陣，而這個傷患一直影響至今。在接下來的休季，Celtics便把Isaiah Thomas交易至Cavaliers，以換來Kyrie Irving，其後Isaiah Thomas再被交易至Lakers，並因去年的傷患，再次賽季報銷。被問到有沒有後悔為Celtics負傷上陣，Isaiah Thomas則指沒有。
他說：「我沒有後悔。當時我正處於一些比籃球更艱難的事，所以籃球是當時我唯一能麻醉自己的事。我不會後悔。事情就是這樣，我也不能控制。我意思是，你可以說：『對呀，我希望當時能有一個對雙方都好的決定』但當時就是當時的事了。我只能控制我能控制的事，現在我已解決了主要的問題，接下來應集中如何以100%姿態回來。」
